Dawn Norton Williams, 58, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away in the presence of loved ones on Monday, December 11, 2023.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a date and time to be determined by the family.
Dawn was born on April 14, 1965, in Statesboro, Georgia, to the late James Griffin Norton and Tullye Burch Norton Ralph. She was a graduate of Berrien County High School and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Since 2018, Dawn was a beloved employee of Georgia Manufactured Housing Association, where she served as Assistant Director. Her colleagues describe her as “extended family, naturally loved and respected by all”.
Dawn was a beloved mother, cousin, niece, friend, and cat mom. To know her was to love her, and she never met a stranger. Marching to the beat of her own drum, she was always up for a good time, and cherished making memories with her children, Stephen and Hannah. She was so proud of Stephen’s music, and was a constant front-row audience member at his performances. Her dance moves were unrivaled, and she sang like no one was listening! She felt so blessed to be able to share her home with Hannah, whom she considered not only her daughter, but her best friend. The two peas in a pod enjoyed tavelling or staying in for a movie marathon, as long as they were together. Her love for her children was unrivaled. Her love for her friends was the same. Stephen and Hannah’s Godmother, Lisa Connor, was a constant in Dawn’s life for the last 40 years, and is the definition of a friend who becomes family.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Swain and daughter-in-law, McCall, of Forsyth; her daughter, Hannah Williams, of Forsyth; her step-grandson, Luke Trammell, of Forsyth; her uncle, John (Johnny) B. Burch, Jr. & Debra, of Fitzgerald; cousins: Stacy & Jan Wells and their children, Chloe (Quentin) and Bailey, of Screven, Jonathan & Melissa Burch and their daughter Olivia, of Fitzgerald, and Emily & Jimmy Howell, and their children Jadyn (Dykes), Kerrigan, and Kate, of Irwin County.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Rock On Rescue, Inc., in Dawn’s memory, with the funds going to support dog and cat rescue, spay, and neuter in the Middle Georgia Area. Donations can be sent to:
