Wanda June (Buck) Bibbs, 75, of Anderson passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Anderson with her family lovingly by her side.
She was born on June 16, 1948 in Bloomington, Indiana to the late Herbert N. and Mildred K. (Ogden) Buck. She grew up with her eight siblings, Janet, Gertrude, Herbert D., Eunice, Bea Kay, Judy, Donna, and Daryl. Early in her life, Wanda met Phillip Bibbs, the love of her life. A few years of dating lead to a wonderful marriage of 58 years.
She spent some time kindheartedly teaching elementary education at Park Place Elementary School. After which, her greatest joy in life was raising her family with unconditional love. She enjoyed cooking for her family. She passionately attended church perfecting her walk with God. Leading by example for her boys and all those she held dear to her heart. She had a special way of making you feel loved.
She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Anderson.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip Bibbs; three sons, Marc (Christy) Bibbs, Todd (Colleen Garner) Bibbs, and Rev. Troy (Shelly) Bibbs; grandchildren, Emily Bibbs, Jordan Bibbs, Mackenzi Schwieterman, Kaity Bibbs, Karter Bibbs, Kelsee Eviston, Londyn Bibbs, Gage Bibbs, and Lincoln Bibbs; a great-grandchild, Tekla Bibbs; four siblings, Gertrude Butcher, Bea Kay Fulton, Judy (Stan) Baker, and Donna (Milton) Puckett; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four siblings, Janet Helton, Herbert D. Buck, Eunice Evans, and Daryl Buck.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at First Pentecostal Church of Anderson 630 W. 53rd Street, Anderson, with Revs. Luke St. Clair, Troy Bibbs, and Bob Stroup officiating. A private burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm-6:00pm on Thursday at the church.
