Thomas L. Sharkey, 82, of Londonderry, NH, died Friday December 22, 2023 in the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 30, 1941 in South Bend, IN, a son of the late Henry and Kathryn (Parker) Sharkey. He had been a resident of Londonderry for the past 40 years, formerly living in Arlington Heights, IL. Thomas was a US Air Force veteran serving from 1959 - 1963. He was employed in the computer field throughout his career most recently as a senior technician for BAE Systems.
As a father, Thomas was thoroughly immersed in his son’s athletics including soccer and baseball as a coach, umpire and biggest fan. He held a lifelong fascination with cars and motorsports which he shared with his sons and grandson. His granddaughters evoked his interests with their stories, questions and global travel adventures.
He is predeceased by his first wife and children’s mother, Anne Marie (O’Connor) Sharkey and survived by his wife Ann (Stanton) Sharkey of Londonderry; and two sons, Timothy Sharkey of Old Bridge, NJ, and Patrick Sharkey of Salem, NH; his sister, Susan Perno of Tucson, AZ; as well as grandchildren: Kathryn, Megan and Jack Sharkey.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Friday, December 29th from 5 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
