Obituary

Robinson, Margaret (“Margie”) Mary Age 79, of Walpole Mass, formerly of Dedham, died peacefully at her home, December 26, 2023, following a brief but difficult battle with cancer. Born in Roslindale in 1944, she was the daughter of Marion Dowd (Carmichael) and John Dowd and was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain Public Schools before moving to Dedham in 1968 where she started her family.

Margie’s faith and love of family were the priorities in her life– demonstrating unconditional love and care for her children and grandchildren, who referred to her as their “Little Nana”. She loved having all of her grandchildren over for sleepovers where she spoiled them with spaghetti and meatballs, her special candy drawer, and endless desserts. She always made sure to send them home with her hand knit blankets, hats and mittens. She made each holiday so special, demonstrating thoughtfulness and care in every moment spent together.

Margie worked as a nurse in Boston area hospitals until she retired, and as the family matriarch, was the ultimate caregiver and nurturer to everyone who knew her, always putting her families’ needs above anything else. Margie is the greatest example of unconditional and sacrificial love to her children and grandchildren, especially with the care she provided to her disabled daughter Kristen every single day.

We will continue her legacy by showing care and compassion to those around us, providing constant love and support to those who mean the most to us, and focusing on finding moments of joy amidst even the most difficult of circumstances.

Margie is survived by her three beloved daughters, Karen Brady and her husband Tom of Walpole, Kimberly Meehan and her husband Shaun of Norfolk, and Kristen Robinson of Walpole; her husband of 12 years, Elliot Stanley; her former husband and father of her children Walter Robinson; her eight grandchildren, Katie Bensel and her husband Taylor, Kerianne Brady, John Brady, Conor Brady, Alli Meehan, Matt Meehan, Ava Meehan, and Mia Meehan; and her two great grandchildren, Owen Bensel and Emmy Bensel.
