Pamela Ramos-Chumack passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Born December 4, 1961, Pamela spent her 62 years spreading joy to any and all around her. She was admired for her strength and compassion. She spent most of her time taking care of her family, friends, and community.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Raymond and Lillian (Jasper) Ramos. She lived in New Bedford all her life.
She was a master of home cooking and her signature dish Munchupa/ Cachupa was well known around the city. She was an avid Patriots fan who also loved learning about other cultures and languages including Korean.
She devoted her time to others in her personal life and through her work; most recently as an advocate at a local women's shelter.
Not a day went by where she didn't talk about how much her family meant to her, including her parents, her husband, her daughters, and especially her five grandchildren who gave her so much joy in life.
A loving and wonderful woman until the very end, she will be greatly missed.
Pamela is survived by her parents Raymond and Lillian Ramos, her husband Ralph Chumack Jr., her daughters Raeha Noel and her husband Serge Noel, Shevonne Arias and her husband Benni Arias, her father in law Ralph Chumack and his wife Cynthia, her mother in law Barbara Chumack, her grandchildren Amaya, Zaire, Xavion, Gisany, and Nyree. Her brother Kevin Lopes and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday, December 29th at 8:30 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9:30 AM. Burial will take place at a later date. Visiting hours will be on Thursday December 28th from 4-8 PM.
