Joan I. (Peterson) Brandt, age 82, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side on Monday, December 25, 2023. She was the beloved wife of John M. Brandt.
Born in Attleboro, MA on February 15, 1941, she was a loving daughter of the late Arthur and Irene (Richards) Peterson.
Joan grew up in town and was a 1959 graduate of Mansfield High School. He continued her education at Catharine Gibbs Secretarial School and later in life at Bridgewater State College.
She was a devoted homemaker to her adoring family and had also been employed for Attorney Robert S. Mangiaratti and the late Attorney Eugene F. Boyle, both whom she truly loved working for, very much enjoying her job as a Paralegal.
Joan spent most of her life vacationing at the family home in Onset, where memories created will last in the hearts of minds of her loved ones forever. She was a longtime member and former secretary of the Nanumett Heights Beach Club in Onset and graciously volunteered her assistance at the Mansfield Animal Shelter.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children: Lynda Shaw-Krauth and her husband Rob of Attleboro, Pamela White and her husband Craig of Rochester, William Shaw and his wife Tricia of Walpole, Erich Brandt of Jacksonville, Florida and Shanna Manton and her husband Buck of St. Augustine, Florida. she was the dear sister of Bruce Peterson and his wife Sharon of Montara, California and is also survived by her cherished 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Services, along with burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
