Shawn P. Burnham age 58, passed away on December 19, 2023. He was born on October 17, 1965 in Springfield, a son of the late Charles and Theresa (Vient) Burnham. Shawn was a graduate of Chicopee High School, Class of 1984. He was the owner of the former Royal Café in Chicopee for many years and also worked for the Chicopee Electric Light Department for over 30 years before he retired. Shawn was an avid Cowboys fan and also loved the Boston Bruins. He enjoyed music, golf, traveling and had a great sense of humor. Those close to him called him the Prince of Darkness because of his humorous obsession with turning all the lights off to save electricity. He was a member of the Chicopee Moose Lodge and the Tigers AC. He leaves his siblings, Thomas Burnham of Chicopee; David Burnham of Chicopee; Brian Burnham and his wife Cathy of Biddeford, ME, Garry Burnham and his wife Marilou of Freeport, FL, Theresa Gardiner and her husband Michael of Harrisville, RI and Deborah Tryba and her husband Casimir of Southwick. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Shannon, Aimee, Michael, Christopher, Rebekah, Sadie, Calvin and Erica along with many great nieces, great nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his sister-in-law Doreen Burnham. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 8:00 – 9:00 AM at the Funeral Home followed by a Memorial Mass in St Rose de Lima Church at 9:30 AM.
