Obituary

WORCESTER____Patricia A. (Corrigan) Markiewicz, 87, of Worcester passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, with family by her side in the comfort of her home. Her husband, Richard H. Markiewicz died in 2015.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Barbara Senior and her husband Mark with whom she made her home, four grandchildren, Jason Senior and his wife Amanda, Mark Senior, Jr., and his wife Korina, Ryan Senior and Kristen Karalus and her husband, Brad, seven great-grandchildren, two stepsons, Richard J. Markiewicz and his husband, Ralph Ritacco and Paul Markiewicz and his wife, Laurie, six step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by two brothers, Richard Peloquin and Edward Corrigan, Jr. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Edward and Flora (Vigeant) Corrigan and lived in Worcester all her life.

Mrs. Markiewicz graduated from St. Peter’s High School and UMASS Amherst. She was employed by the City of Worcester as a Center Coordinator for the Head Start Program. Patricia was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. She was a member of Sacred Heart – St. Catherine of Sweden Parish.

Pat enjoyed weekly bingo nights at Sacred Heart Church and the Auburn Elks, trips to her favorite place, Foxwoods Casino, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in Sacred Heart Church, Sacred Heart – St. Catherine of Sweden Parish, 596 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, December 26, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
