Barbara A. Autenzio, a Woburn resident for more than fifty years, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. She was 78. Barbara was the beloved wife for 52 years of Alfred D. Autenzio. Born in Boston she was the cherished daughter of the late Peter and Rose (Annalora) Giliberti.
Barbara was raised and educated in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. She recently retired following a 55-year career working as an Administrator with the Federal Government Department of Transportation. Barbara was also an active parishioner of St. Barbara Church and received great comfort from her strong Catholic faith. She also served as a Notary Public and as a Justice of the Peace in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In her leisure time, Barbara enjoyed helping her husband participating in many events held by the Woburn Lions Breakfast Club. Together they enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod, boating, traveling, especially to Florida and visiting Disney World. She will be greatly missed.
Along with her beloved husband, Alfred, Barbara is survived by her aunt Helen Lewis of CA. She was the cousin of Arthur and Carol DiGiovanni of Byfield, Steven Delpidio of Derry, NH, Catherine Leone and Patty Lewis, both of CA. Sister-in-law of Bob Autenzio and his wife Dianne of Woburn, Richard Autenzio and his wife Michele of FL, Elizabeth Tomaselli and her husband Nick of FL, and the late Lorraine Arsenault. She is further survived by many more loving cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours held at St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn, Tuesday, December 26th, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Barbara Church, Wednesday morning, December 27th, at 10 a.m. once again family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
