Maureen D. Macari, 86, of Smithfield, died Monday, December 18, 2023 at Mount St. Rita’s Health Center in Cumberland. She was the widow of Pasco Macari, who died in 2001.
Maureen was a daughter of the late Oscar and Mary E. (O’Melia) Rathier. She had lived in Smithfield before moving to Cumberland sixteen years ago.
She was the devoted mother of Dawn E. Macari and her husband, Michael Ball of Cumberland, RI, Brian Macari and his wife, Joan of Catonsville, MD, and Jason Macari and his wife, Martha Anne of Cumberland, RI.
Cherished grandmother of Jaimie Neveu and her husband, Jay, Christian Macari and his wife, Jess, Emily Russell and her husband, Tommy, Micah, Michael, Caroline, Joshua and Mary Macari.
She was the loving great-grandmother of Liliana, Violet and Noah Neveu, Ava Macari, and Luke and Elena Russell. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her sisters: Mary Brown of Mont Vernon NH and Karen Brown of Greenville RI. She was the sister of the late Patricia Gillerin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 27th at 11am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visitation will be Wednesday morning 8:30-10:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
