John Daniel (Jack) Fargo (87) of Brockton passed away December 18th in the Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Mary T. (Lally) Fargo of Brockton.
He was born in Boston son of the late Lawrence A. Fargo and Eleanor K. (McCarthy) Fargo. John was a retired electro-mechanical design engineer for the GCA Corporation in Bedford and GTR Manufacturing in Brockton. He was a US Navy Veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a communicant of Christ the King Parish, where he taught confirmation classes for many years. John was a eucharistic minister, lector, initiated eucharistic adoration in the parish where it has continued since 1974. He was an associate of the Sisters of the Assumption, a volunteer at My Brother’s Keeper and the Holy Cross Retreat House. He also enjoyed reading, working with his hands, spending time with his grandchildren and keeping in touch with his many family and friends both near and far.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Lawrence P. Fargo (his late wife Donna) of Brockton and John D. Fargo and his wife Lorna of South Weymouth, 4 daughters, Linda C. Fargo and her wife Nora Hughes of Brockton, Teresa M. Cabral and her husband Jeff of South Carolina, Brenda S. Eckstrom and her husband Kenneth of Buzzards Bay and Judith C. Fargo and her husband Charles Bumpus of Brockton, 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Wednesday December 27th from 4-8 pm.
Services in the Funeral Home Thursday December 28th at 9:30 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman Street Brockton at 10:30 am. Burial to follow in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne.
