BROWNFIELD- It is with sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Joseph Zaccheo, affectionately known as Joe Zack, on December 16, 2023, at the age of 67. Joe was born on Valentine's Day in 1956, a fitting beginning for a man whose life was marked by love and warmth. He was born in Revere and grew up to graduate from Revere High School.
Joe's final moments were spent at his home in Brownfield, Maine with a friend of 25+ years – Kevin. His legacy is one of joy, service, and a vibrant connection to the world (especially animals) around him. An avid volunteer with disabled veterans, Joe's compassionate spirit touched lives. His passion for music was evident in his harmonica playing, which brought both solace and joy to those around him.
His love for nature was profound. An avid horticulturalist and fisherman, Joe found peace and happiness in the great outdoors. His adventurous spirit led him to embrace windsurfing and boating, always seeking new experiences and challenges.
Joe's memory is cherished by his four sisters - Carol, Jane, Ginny, and Dianne - and an extended family of 12 nieces and nephews. His absence will be deeply felt, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. His beloved parents were the late Virginia M. and Joseph P. Zaccheo.
There will be no public wake or service, respecting Joe's wishes for privacy. A private memorial for family will be planned in the future, where we will celebrate Joe's journey through life.
