John J. Goldrick, III
Retired United Parcel Service Facility Engineer

LINCOLN, RI: John J. Goldrick, III, age 79, a resident of Lincoln, RI for the past nine years, formerly of Tewksbury for 40 years and grew up in Malden, passed away at home after a long, brave battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 17th.

He was the beloved husband of Geraldine (Willis) Goldrick, with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on October 20, 2023.

Born in Somerville on January 7, 1944, he was the son of the late John J. Goldrick, Jr. and the late Ethel (Messenger) Goldrick.

John was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School in 1962.

On September 10, 1962, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Bamburg Germany as a tank mechanic for the M60. He was awarded the Marksman Rifle Badge (M-14) and the Marksman Rifle Badge (M-1) for his active-duty service.
He was Honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1965.

Prior to his retirement, John worked for 37 years for United Parcel Service in Watertown and Chelmsford.

In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, collecting coins, golfing, fishing, and traveling with his wife and family.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three children, John L. Goldrick, of Weare, NH, Juliann (Goldrick) Knoops and her husband Peter, of Tewksbury and Jay J. Goldrick and his wife Cheryl-Ann, of Lincoln, RI. He was the grandfather of Jonathan Goldrick, Derek Goldrick, Peter Knoops, Emily (Knoops) Jacobson and her husband Christopher, Hannah Knoops, Jay J. Goldrick, Jr., Dylan Goldrick, and the late baby Kevin Knoops, and soon to be great grandfather to Baby Boy Jacobson due in February. Brother of Bonnie Connolly, of Malden and the late Joan Risteen also of Malden.

Calling hours are Thursday, December 21st from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held December 22nd at 10:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute at dana-farber.org and/or Wounded Warriors at woundedwarriorproject.org
