After a long illness, Jane (Hill) Burr, 85, of Greenville, RI passed away on December 12th shortly after her husband of 61 years, Henry E. “Hank” Burr.
Born in Queens, NY, a daughter of the late Richard W. and Barbara (Dennis) Hill, she had attended the High School of Music and Art in NY, NY. She had played the violin and played in numerous orchestras before attending The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, receiving a BS in Music Education.
After a career of teaching music and playing in NJ, she and her husband Hank retired to RI. She continued playing in chamber orchestras, the URI symphony, and Chorus of Westerly. She had also continued teaching in an after-school program.
She is survived by two sons Steven and Douglas, Doug’s wife Lisa, three grandchildren, Hannah, Katie, and Rachel and her brother David Hill, and was the sister of pre-deceased Barbara McNaughton and Richard Hill.
A celebration of her life and Hank's will be held this summer in Wayne, Maine where they had enjoyed many years together.
