Billy Joe Hope, 80, of Anderson went to be with the Lord on December 17, 2023 at Northview Health and Living.
Billy was born January 24, 1943, in Muncie, the son of James T. and Augusta (Goens) Hope.
He was the warehouse supervisor at Kroger in Indianapolis for 25 years before retiring in 2019. Billy was a member of Wesleyan Memorial Circle in Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Connie (Alfrey) Hope of Anderson, whom he married February 11, 1983 in Orlando, Florida; his children, David (Cheryl) Hope of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Don (Jackie) Hope of Wilmington, Ohio, Kyle (Yadira) Hope of Indianapolis, Jason Pickering of Anderson, Tina Kendall (Dennis Tillis) of Anderson, Kevin (Karrie) Hope of Michigan, Brendon (Shara Haggan) Hope of Pendleton, Jamie Niccum of Anderson, Alex (Ashley) Witham of Pendleton, and David (Jaime) Cook of Greenwood; sister, Greta Werner of Greenville, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Patricia Hope of Greenville, Ohio and Lynn Alfrey-Willhite of Anderson; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, James T. Hope Jr. and a sister, Barbara Griffith Smith.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rosie De La Cruz and Community Health Hospice.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Chaplain Kody Hope and Pastor Clifton Ashlock officiating. Entombment will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to offset funeral expenses.
