Obituary

CHICOPEE – Sandra R. “Sandy” (Kosiorek) Constantine, 76, of the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, December 16, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on August 13, 1947, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph K. and Rita E. (Rivest) Kosiorek. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated in 1964 from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a Crossing Guard and a Noon Mother at Lambert-Lavoie Elementary School, for the Chicopee School Department, and was affectionately known as “Mémère” by the students. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in the Aldenville section of Chicopee. She was a member of the Pioneer Valley Chapter 8 Camping Association in Granby. She enjoyed her trips camping with her friends, but most especially, enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great grandsons. Most of all, Sandy loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Hervey E. “Herv” Constantine. They were married on December 3, 1966 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville and were blessed with over 52 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving and devoted children, Lynda M. St. Jean and her husband, Edmond, of Chicopee, Nancy A. Embury and her husband, David, of South Hadley, Ann M. Kincaid and her husband, Harrison Kincaid III, of Chicopee and Wayne J. Constantine and his wife, Jacqueline Elfman-Constantine, of South Hadley; her eight cherished grandchildren, Joseph St. Jean, Lauryn St. Jean and her fiancé, Roberto, Robert Embury, Brianna Embury and her partner, Gianni, Christopher Lindsey, Kyle Rudert, Anthony Constantine and his partner, Abbigail, and Khloe Constantine; her cherished step granddaughter, Miranda Beninati; her two cherished great grandsons, Randy and Dmitry; her dear brothers in law and sisters in law, John Richard Constantine and his wife, Carol, Pauline Roy and her husband, Roland, Christina Constantine and her partner, Ronald Krzeminski, Manuel Constantine and his wife, Dolores, Beatrice Rielle, and Theresa LaBarge and her husband, Harvey “George” LaBarge; her dear cousin who was like a sister to her, Linda Plasse; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers in law and sisters in law, Anthony Constantine, Alice Roy and her husband, Roger, Donald Rielle, Catherine Touchette and her husband, Henry “Hank” Touchette, and Paul Plasse. Her funeral will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Committal Service will follow the Mass at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
