Mary A. Miller, 74, of Manchester, NH, passed away unexpectedly Friday December 15, 2023, in the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, surrounded by her daughters. She was born on December 13, 1949 in Springfield, MA, a daughter of the late James and Catherine (Callahan) Stevens. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1970. She married the love of her life Frank, on May 28, 1972 and they began their travels to NH, LA, FL and settled in Duxbury, MA, where they raised their daughters.
Mary worked as an Operating Room Nurse for over 25 years at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA until she retired in 2005. She loved any day that was spent at the beach with family and friends. She loved being Nana to her grandchildren. Being there to support her grandchildren in all of their passions made her heart full. She had a beautiful smile and a wonderful sense of humor that will be missed by anyone who knew her.
She is survived by two daughters, Lori A. Pessotti and husband Stephen of Chester, NH and Heather L. Moss and husband Christopher of Verona, NJ; four grandchildren, Jake and Lyla Pessotti and Michaela and Kevin Moss; two sisters, one brother; Elaine Giroux and husband Raymond and Jane Stone and husband, the late David, all of Alabaster, AL; James P. Stevens of Washington, DC; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis X.J. Miller in 2021.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Thursday January 4, 2024 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm with a memorial service to follow at 6pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH.
