Concetta “Connie” Corrado, 94 years old, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Gerard E. Corrado, Sr. Loving mother of Gerard E. Corrado, Jr. and his wife Chris Corrado of Wakefield and Richard J. Corrado and his wife Kristine Corrado of South Boston. Cherished grandmother “Connie” of Richie Corrado and his wife E.B Bartels of Arlington and Kailyn Corrado of South Boston. Loving daughter of the late Nicolo and Josephine Vento and devoted sister of the late Joseph, Frank, John, Tom, Tony, and Sal Vento. Connie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members, friends, and neighbors.
Born August 18, 1929 in South Boston where she lived for all of her life. Connie was a Boston Public Schools special education paraprofessional teacher for 30 plus years and worked at many local schools in South Boston. When not working with her students, Connie enjoyed spending her time crocheting, knitting, traveling, reading, watching Jeopardy! and The Golden Girls, and attempting to win big on a dollar scratch ticket. She also loved a good cheeseburger and fries from Sully’s. Connie loved her hometown and her church Gate of Heaven, and she made many friends in Southie over her 94 years of life. Connie’s love for her children and the rest of her family was unconditional, and her grandchildren especially were her world.
Visiting hours will be held at Casper Funeral Home located at 187 Dorchester Street in South Boston on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 4-7PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Gate of Heaven Catholic Church located at 615 E 4th St in South Boston on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM followed by interment at St Michael Cemetery 500 Canterbury Street in Roslindale, Boston.
