Dr. Alicia Ann Jaquez-Bryant, DCH, PhD, born March 27, 1943, passed away November 11, 2023 at the age of 80. Alicia was born and raised in Ventura, CA; graduated from Santa Clara High School, and remained a lifelong resident within the county. She had many accomplishments in her professional life which included teaching at Holy Cross, teaching at Villa Nova, teaching the MFT program at California Lutheran University, a Lt. Naval Evaluation and Testing Officer, a doctoral graduate in psychology from the University of Southern California, and later earning her doctorate in clinical hypnotherapy from LaSalle University. Alicia kept a private hypnotherapy practice for 18 years until retirement.
Alicia was very passionate about family, education, and the desire to help people through hypnotherapy. She also found immense joy in attending UCLA basketball games with her nieces and nephews and enjoying the personal and professional accomplishments of the ones that she loved. She is survived by three daughters and two grandchildren; daughters, Patricia Ann Holden-Fischer, Teresa Roberta Holden, and Michelle Nicole Bryant; and granddaughters, Beverley Ginger-Rae Allen, and Nekyia Paige Griffin. She is also survived by her cousins; Lily Jaquez Garcia and husband Eddie, Zeke Jaquez Sr and wife Gloria, Dick Jaquez and wife Pam, and was preceded in death by her mother of Durango, Mexico; Maximina Jaquez De Garcia (1997), her father Raymond Garcia (1977), and her brother Arthur Robert Garcia (1966).
Alicia's children, many cousins, nieces, and nephews of the Jaquez family will keep her memory close to their heart, be deeply missed, and thought of fondly. We know she is now with her preceding loved ones in the heavens resting peacefully. Till next time. La Vida, La Beda.
Family and friends are invited to a Most Holy Rosary to be recited at 9:00 am on Tuesday, January 9, 2023 in Padre Serra Parish, 5205 Upland Road, Camarillo, a Mass of Christian Burial will then follow in Church at 10:00 am.
