Obituary

Danny Lamar Harrell, 68, of Lenox went home to be with his loving Jesus after a long battle with cancer on December 15, 2023.

His funeral service with be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Pastor Rickey Wells officiating. Mr. Harrell will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. The family and friends will meet at 1440 Carrol Willis Road in Lenox.

Pallbearers will be Tim Butler, Terry Butler, Randy Hall, Neil Tyson, Victor Varnadoe, Ben Crumley, Terry Cox and Thomas Harrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Perry, Charles “Shorty” Sumner, Everett “Slim” Rowan, Ronnie Cox, Bill Turnmire, Ricky (Cricket) Turnmire, Billy Crumley and Danny Woodall.

Mr. Harrell was a member of Omega Church of God.

Danny was a faithful servant, loving husband, protective father, best papa and true friend.

Mr. Harrell was born January 1, 1955, in Adel and he was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Alton (Toots) Harrell and Mary Ilene Walker and one brother, Thomas Wayne Harrell. He graduated from Tift County High School in the Class of 1972. He served in the United States Navy and served on the USS Ranger CV 61. He spent his life with various turf grass companies, where he planted, revamped and built athletic fields and golf courses all over the southeastern states. After retirement from being on the road, Mr. Harrell went to work at the Tift County Road Department and later retired to spend time with his family.

Mr. Harrell is survived by his wife, Lynn Camp Harrell of Lenox; one daughter, Holly Harrell of Omega; three sons, Daniel (Sami) Harrell of Moultrie, Chris (Anna) Hale of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Justin Hale of Lenox; two granddaughters, who were his pride and joy, Jayda Harrell and Peyton Hale; one nephew, Thomas (Cathy) Harrell; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to a favorite Hospice.
