Lorraine Maria (Salamone) Minichello formerly of East Boston and Tewksbury, passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2023, at the age of 81. She was the wife of the late John James “Mini” Minichello and loving daughter of the late Frank George and Virginia (Turco) Salamone of East Boston.
Like many kids growing up in East Boston, Lorraine enjoyed skating at the Stadium, swimming at Orient Heights Beach (Shades Beach) and Sunday afternoon feasts at Nana’s House. Being the oldest, she was often found taking care of her little brother, Frankie. Lorraine attended Mt. Carmel School and Eastie High. Always the animal lover, Lorraine became a certified Dog Groomer and owned and operated a grooming business in East Boston for several years. She was creative and artistic with a knack for taking yard sale finds and turning them into beautiful household décor. What brought Lorraine the most joy was being with her Family, especially her three daughters and five grandsons, called “The Boys.” She was the kindest and gentlest soul, had a heart of gold and the ability to make you laugh with her one-liners, she will be tremendously missed.
Lorraine was the devoted mother and adorned “Nanny” to her three daughters and five grandsons: Jacqueline Ann Minichello (Dante and Gabriel Cadeus) of Haverhill, Lisa Lorraine Cross (Shaun & Becca Cross of California and Kevin Cross) of Tewksbury, Kris Noel Santoro (Joseph Santoro) of Haverhill. She is also survived by her loving Brother and Sister-in-Law Frank and Ann Salamone of Winthrop, her nephew Frank Salamone & his Family of Saugus, special goddaughter, and niece Jennifer Salamone Ferragamo & Family of Winthrop.
