CHICOPEE – Patricia A. (Patenaude) Potvin, 78, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, December 10, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Fitchburg on July 27, 1945, a beloved daughter of the late Albert and Edna (Berube) Patenaude. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and had lived in Chicopee her entire life. She was employed as a machine operator at U.S. Envelope in Springfield and Rexnord Chain, both in Springfield and Strathmore Paper in Westfield. Following her retirement, she worked as a bus driver for the Springfield School Department and had worked at Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield and the Hampden County Correctional Center in Ludlow. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling, visiting the ocean and trying her luck at local bingo games. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She leaves her two loving sons, Raymond D. Potvin and David J. Potvin and his fiancée, Kimberly Ostiguy, all of Chicopee; her cherished grandson, Justin D. Potvin; her dear sister, Stella Boisvert of South Hadley; her two dear nephews, Michael Maspo and his wife, Madge, of Chicopee and Anthony Maspo and his wife, Laura, of Holyoke; her dear partner, Alfred Bobek of Chicopee; and her many dear extended family members and friends. Her family will host a Memorial Mass at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee at a later date. There are no visiting hours. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
