Florina L. (Graveline) McKenney, age 94, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles C. McKenney, who died in 1995 and the late Wilbur L. Bell, who died in 1965.
Born in New Britain, CT on May 13, 1929, she was a loving daughter of the Joseph and Bernice (Davenport) Graveline.
Florina grew up and was educated in Newington, CT. She was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family and had previously worked at the former Maples Convalescent Home in Wrentham and at the former Texas Instruments in Attleboro.
A resident of Mansfield for over sixty years, Florina was a lifelong active member at the former Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Mansfield, where she helped run the Thrift Shop for twenty years. She was a member of the Order of Rebekah in Mansfield, the Mansfield Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society.
Florina’s love for family and friends was unconditional and her hobbies included walking in Mansfield, traveling, bingo, crafting, flower arranging, painting, dancing to a good “jitterbug” and taking great pride in the beautiful appearance of her home.
She is survived by her devoted children: Deborah L. Bell of Mansfield, Mary Ellen Winsor and her husband Wayne of North Attleboro, Shawn M. Bell of Norton, Kevin P. Bell and his wife Susan of Winthrop, Maine and Charlene M. Sudore and her husband Stephen of Georgetown, Tennessee. She was the dear sister of the late Robert Graveline, Shirley Johanns and Eugene Graveline. She is also survived by her cherished eight grandchildren, as well as many great and great-great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service, in celebration of her life, on Saturday, January 20th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 116 South Street, Foxborough. Burial will follow at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.
