Robert A. “Rob” Griffin, 37, of Woonsocket died on Sunday December 10, 2023 at Landmark Medical Center.
Born in Providence on December 1, 1986 he was a son of Robert Desjardins and Diane Griffin both of Woonsocket.
Rob answered to most anything people would call him especially “Pee-wee” or “Turtle”. Rob marched to the beat of his own drummer and lived life on his terms.
Rob’s life truly was an adventure and he lived every moment of it to the fullest. Rob spent a number of years as a carnival worker for Rockwell Amusements. It was with Rockwell his work experiences took him to a number of places throughout the country. Anywhere, everywhere and all points in-between Rob traveled. From Maine to Florida, from West Virginia to Louisiana Rob had countless memorable and unique experiences along the way. Locally he worked at Woonsocket annual Autumnfest, always a weekend he eagerly anticipated. Rob also worked in food service at several local nursing homes and McDonalds.
Pee-wee was a free spirit to the core. His favorite times were bouncing around and playing catch with his nieces and nephews and any and all kids. He never really grew up and he never wanted to. Rocking along and dancing to his favorite music, Pee-wee lived, laughed and loved loud and with all his heart. When he wanted some quiet time Turtle went fishing to relax and enjoy nature.
Rob will be remembered for his outgoing, friendly and bubbly personality. He was the first person to help anyone in need. He would go to the max to be there for and help his family, friends or even complete strangers. That’s just the kind of person he was and will forever remain in the hearts of all who were lucky to have been a part of his life.
Rob is survived by his three children whom he loved with all his heart. His son Brayden Lemoine and his two daughters Piper Close and Serenity Griffin. He was the loving brother of Anthony Griffin, Michael Moulton, Driano Perry, Adrianna Perry, Destiny Desjardins, Bianca Perry and Cassandra Sherby. Rob is also survived by his extended family of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who he considered as part of his family.
Everyone is invited to gather to honor, remember and celebrate Rob’s life at visiting hours on Wednesday December 20, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
