TEWKSBURY: Anne Louise (Sartorio) Rice, age 90, a 25-year resident of Woburn, passed away at her daughter’s home in Tewksbury on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Born in Somerville on March 27, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles Sartorio and the late Julia (Tambourini) Sartorio.

Anne was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School.

She attended Bunker Hill Community College, where she received her associate degree and Simmons College, where she received her bachelor's degree.

For over 35 years Anne worked with alcoholics and drug addicts to help them achieve continued sobriety, restore their dignity, their relationships and find tools to live fulfilling lives.

In her spare time, she enjoyed going to movies, dining out at area restaurants, and traveling to Hawaii.

She is survived by three children, Michael A. Rice and his wife Diane, of Bethlehem. PA, Judith A. Rice, of Tewksbury, and Suzanne M. Bradley and her husband David, of Tewksbury: her grandchildren, Christopher Rice, Cheryl Truong, Angela Rice, David Bradley, Jr., Leanne Bradley, and Catherine Bradley. She leaves six great grandchildren: her nephew, Paul Mello, her niece, Julianne Saniuk, and her longtime friend, Lorraine Alexander.

Anne was the sister of the late Mary Mello and her late husband Edward, and aunt of the late Robert Mello and Richard Mello.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, December 19th, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury, immediately followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation at www.t2t.org or to Shriners Hospital for Children at www.shrinerschildrens.org
