It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved partner, daughter, sister, friend and co-worker, Sandra J. Bartlett, age 54, on December 10, 2023. She was the devoted partner of Marialaina “Laina” Nicholl.
Born in Boston, Sandra was the daughter of the late Jean (Izzi) Bartlett of Boston, and her father and stepmother Jim and Cindy Bartlett of Lynnfield. She was raised and educated in Acton and was a graduate of Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. She attended Salve Regina College in Newport, RI and then transferred to Northeastern University in Boston, where she earned her degree in nursing. Sandra followed her nursing career path to Atlanta and worked as a pediatric nurse. She then returned to the Boston area 13 years ago and worked at Boston Children’s Hospital, ultimately working in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). She devoted more than 30 years to her pediatric nursing career specializing in the PICU and NICU critical care units, saving and healing countless children. She cared deeply for her patients and their parents and was part of a rare group of people in the world who sacrifice themselves for others.
Remembered by Laina as kind, caring and generous, Sandra loved life with her and their Doodle dog “Stella” and spending time at the beach, especially “Singing Beach” in Manchester-By-The-Sea. She cherished their family and time spent together.
In addition to Laina, Sandra is lovingly survived by her parents, Jim Bartlett and his wife Cindy, of Lynnfield. She was the dear sister of Janine Velardi and her husband Peter of Atlanta, GA, James Bartlett of Gloucester, Jay Bartlett and his wife Iris of Park City, UT, Melissa DiBlasi and her husband Joe of Lynnfield. She was the devoted aunt of Peter, Nicholas and Serena Velardi, Isaiah James, Nolan and Hendrix Bartlett, Sean and Henry DiBlasi. Laina’s children and grandchildren were lovingly cherished as her own: Christopher and Hannah Nicholl and their children August and Olive, Lia and Hamid Khouyi and their children CaraLena and Scarlett.
