Iris Marie Hird

Iris Marie (Strickler) Hird, 90, passed away at Anderson St. Vincent Hospital on December 11, 2023.
She was born on November 3, 1933 in Anderson, the daughter of Aubrey and Kathryn (Laucamp) Strickler. She enjoyed being a homemaker and serving along with her husband of 47 years, Rev. Robert E. Hird, as a pastor’s wife with the Church of God, playing the organ and piano, singing and filling other roles within the church.
Marie is survived by her children; Tim (Sandra) Hird, Kerry (Marsha) Hird, Diane Hird, and Gregory Hird; grandchildren, Natalee (Dustin) Baker, Jordan Hird, Tyler (Chelsea) Hird, Kelsi (Bryan) Slann, Marcus (Andrea) Hird, Nathan (Kristen) Hird; great grandchildren; Brooklyn, Wylie, McKenna, River, Weston, Jett, Adaline, Jude; sister, Martha Niswander; special adopted family members, Lisa Burnett Butzow and Madison Burnett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Esther Whitsel.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Anita Jack. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. prior to the funeral on Friday.
