Worcester - Maurice R. "Rick" Duncan passed away peacefully at home with his family and his dog by his side on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, his 86th birthday. Rick was born in Boston; son of the late Morris Blotner and Esther (Reeves) Paputseanos. He leaves a daughter and two sons: Tamara Price and her husband Troy of Gardner, Michael Duncan and his wife Diane of Charlton & David Duncan of Worcester; six grandchildren: Scott, Michelle, Chad, Alyssa, Max & Amber; four great-grandchildren: Avayah, Cian, Aliannah & Azaiah; his sisters and brother: Carol, Barbara & Bob; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Alice F. (Hocking) Duncan, a daughter, Sandra J. Duncan and by two sisters, Rita and Jean. In addition to raising his own children, he fostered many children through the years.
Rick enlisted in the Navy after graduating high school; He served there before enlisting in the Air Force where he would retire as a Master Sargeant, totaling 22 years of service. He proudly served his country in Vietnam. Following his time in the military, Rick was the District Manager for Residential Delivery at the Telegram & Gazette for several years. He was a longtime member of both the Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443, as well as St. Bernard’s Church in Worcester. Rick enjoyed collecting and repairing clocks. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather dedicated to the well-being of his family.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street on Friday December 15, from 9-11 am. A funeral service will follow at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rick's memory may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League.
