It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Alves, a beloved 72-year-old partner, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend on December 10th, 2023.
Thomas was born on June 28th, 1951, and he left this world surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Thomas led a life filled with great love for his family, laughter, and zest. Thomas was a graduate of Don Bosco High School prior to joining IBEW Local 2222. Thomas worked as a Lineman for Verizon, before retiring to enjoy the beach, Florida, Foxwoods and most importantly time with his family and friends. His sense of humor, charm, sarcasm, kindness, and generosity endeared him to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Thomas is survived by his partner Paula Muller of Halifax, his daughter Julianne Alves of Abington, his daughter Janette Illescas, and his son in law Chris Illescas of Whitman, his son Joe Alves, and his partner Meg Cleary of Plymouth, as well as his grandchildren Jocelynn, Cael, Lydia, JR, and Tessa. He is also survived by his sister Linda Alves of Braintree as well as many nieces’ and nephews. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Thomas’ main goal in life was to see his children happy and successful. He loved the sun, the beach, and his beers. He loved horse racing, the track at Saratoga and vacationing anywhere it was warm and sunny.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Friday, December 15th from 4:00-7:00 PM with a service to follow at 7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
