Ernesto Garcia of Cambridge, originally of El Salvador, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023, at the age of 103 years.
He grew up in San Vicente, El Salvador. Married for 72 years to the late Luz M. Garcia. Son of the late Valentina Garcia. Survived by his children, Ernestina and the late Phil Lally, Coralia and Anselmo Valdizon, Luis and Noemi Garcia, Gloria and Thomas Carrigg, and the late Carlos Garcia. Survived by his grandchildren, Tony, Roxanna, Nino, Joaquin, Coralia, Samuel, Sarah, Luis, Bryan, Roslyn, Kimberly, Jonathan, and Carlos. Survived by nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren.
As a young man, Ernesto moved to Panama to work at the Panama Canal Renovations. Ernesto was an electro-mechanic at CIDEMA Corporation in San Salvador, El Salvador. He was a cooling system technician at Delta Ice Cream Corporation in San Salvador, El Salvador. Ernesto was an electro-mechanic at CESSA corporation in Metapan, El Salvador. He was an electro-mechanic at ADOC Shoe corporation in Ilopango, El Salvador. Ernesto worked in the kitchen at Harvard University. Ernesto was an avid reader of history books.
