Jose A. Ferreira, age 69, passed away on December 10, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 24, 1954 in Fagilde, Portugal, son of the late Antonio and Francelina (Dos Anjos) Ferreira. Jose moved to the United States when he was 19 years old. He was a communicant of the former Holy Name of Jesus Parish, and a Set-up Technician at Callaway (formerly Spaulding) for 45 years. He was a member of the Portuguese American Club in Chicopee and a lifetime fan of Benfica. Jose had a lifelong love of music, and was passionate about being a DJ both on the radio and at parties. He loved celebrating life with his family, often hosting everyone at his home and sharing music from his favorite playlists. He was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed making furniture for friends and family. Jose loved the beach and is remembered for having a heart of gold, a great sense of humor and a joke to always make you laugh. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Ana Maria (Santos) Ferreira of Chicopee; 1 daughter, Carla Singletary and her husband Lucas of Wilmington, NC; 3 sons, Carlo Ferreira and his wife Lisa of Windsor Locks, CT; Filipe Ferreira and his partner Sara Garofalo of Ellington, CT and Jose Ferreira of San Diego, CA; 3 sisters, Maria Martins and her husband Manuel of Springfield, Dalia Rosario and her husband Luis of Chicopee and Maria Dias and her husband Mario of Springfield, and 1 brother, Antonio Ferreira and his wife Francelina of Ludlow. He also leaves his 8 beloved grandchildren, Collin, Isabella, Everett, Lucas, Nathaniel, Camden, Milo and Isabella, and several adored family members. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 12:00 Noon in St Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St, Chicopee followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
