Dorothy M. Hoyen, 92, of Worcester and Pompano Beach, FL died Friday, December 8th with her devoted brother George by her bedside. She is survived by her two brothers, George Hoyen of Worcester and Dr. Harry A. Hoyen of Webster, NY; she also leaves her nephews and nieces, Dr. Harry "Alex" Hoyen, III and his wife, Claudia, Andrew Hoyen and his wife, Rebecca, John Szoke and his wife, Joan, Edward and his wife, Marge, and Debra Gazos and many grand nephews and grand nieces. She was predeceased by her brothers, Edward and Thomas Hoyen and sisters, Ruth Feeley, Mary Szoke, Margaret, Phyllis and Helen Hoyen.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Harry A. and Elizabeth (George) Hoyen. Dorothy had worked for many years as a secretary for the family business, the former United Realty, Corp. She was a former member of All Saints Episcopal Church. As part of a large, close knit family Dorothy enjoyed spending time with them here and at their vacation homes at the Cape and in Pompano Beach. Dorothy also enjoyed travel, dancing, music, sewing, tending to her flowers and gardening. She will be sadly missed by George and all that knew her.
Her funeral is Tuesday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m. in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 until the time of the service in the funeral home on Tuesday.
