Obituary

Yvette A. Lemire, 79, of Cooper Hill Road, Mapleville, passed away on Wednesday December 6th at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was the wife of Kenneth P. Lemire. They had been married for 54 years.

Born in Providence, RI, a daughter of the late Leo and Lillian (Thibault) Mandeville. She had lived in Mapleville for 49 years previously living in North Providence. She had been an assembly line worker with Mine Safety in Smithfield before retiring to start a family. She had also been a school bus monitor with Nelson and Dattco bus companies and had delivered the newspaper while being a housewife.

She was devoted to her faith, giving, kind and a wonderful mother to her children, exceptional sister and daughter and the best grandmother that anyone could possibly ask for. She cared for many children throughout her lifetime, including 20+ foster children at her parent’s home and at her home as well. She will be missed greatly.

She fought a good fight with dementia over the last several years and made many friends at Pacifica Senior Living in Cranston over the past several months. Prior to that she was friends with everyone she met at Nelson’s and Dattco bus companies in Burrillville RI while working as a bus monitor. She also spent many years delivering the Woonsocket Call newspaper. No one was more reliable than her and she did everything to the best of her ability.

Besides her husband Kenneth P. Lemire, she leaves her son Kevin P. Lemire and his wife Cindy and their children Nicholas and Sarah of Douglas, MA and Austin and his wife Rachel Lemire of Webster, MA, as well as her late son Keith J. Lemire and his wife Rita and their daughter Kelly of Glocester, RI. She was the sister of Irene Bedard and her late husband Paul Bedard of Mapleville, RI, Kathy Desjarlais and her husband Douglas Desjarlais of West Warwick, RI, Troy Mandeville of Monroe, NC and sister-in-law Linda Wood of West Warwick, RI. She was the sister of the late Raymond Mandeville and the late Patricia Cook.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday December 13th at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Burrillville. Her visitation will be held Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association. www.alz.org/ri Alzheimer's Association
