Augustine A. “Augie” Russo passed away on Tuesday, December 5th at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was 71. He was raised in Boston’s North End, the son of the late Carmen J. and the late Maria O. (Antolini) Russo. He lived in Medford for many years and resided the last dozen years of his life in North Reading.
Augie was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was employed as a truck driver in the asphalt and construction industry. In his spare time he loved to garden, fish, and paint. He enjoyed his cats and was very devoted to his family.
Augie was the beloved husband of the late Sarah A. (McNamara) Russo. He was the devoted father of Michael O'Rourke and his wife Stephanie of Amesbury and Lisa Russo of North Reading. He was the devoted brother of Cecile Russo and her partner Melanie Judd and Anna Marie Willdigg and her husband John. He was the loving uncle of Carmen Willdigg and his fiance Sara Donarumo and of many other nieces and nephews.
Augie’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday, December 12th at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in Saint Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-8 PM.
