William “Billy” Reinhardt, 89, of Sycamore passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Reinhardt at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Reinhardt Family Cemetery in Sycamore, where he will be laid to rest. Ree Reinhardt will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Reinhardt Family Cemetery in Sycamore from 2:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Born July 30, 1934, in Sycamore, Mr. Reinhardt was the son of the late Robert E. and Maggie Branch Reinhardt Brown. He was also preceded in death by one brother, George Robert “Bob” Reinhardt, Sr.; and two sisters, Janette Reinhardt Phelps and Rosemary Reinhardt Bickley. He graduated from Sycamore High School and the University of Georgia, where he received his master’s degree in education. Before retiring, he was a Rehabilitation Counselor. He served as a navigator on the F-4 Phantom Jet Fighter in the United States Navy; and he served as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy Reserves.
Mr. Reinhardt is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” Cornelius Reinhardt of Sycamore, and several nieces and nephews.
