Obituary

Ralph J. Fedele, age 95, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 69 years, Phyllis M. (Gustafson) Fedele. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Raffaele and Marianna (Corapi) Fedele.

Ralph graduated from Brockton High School, class of 1946 and served on the reunion committee. Ralph served his country during the Korean War and was a member of the Italian American War Veterans, Brockton Post 62, where he served as a long time Adjutant; the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Whitman Post 697and The Sons and Daughters of Italy, Brockton Lodge 216 where he was a past president. He was also a former member of the Brockton Ward 2 Memorial Club and the Bridgewater Forty Niners Club.

Ralph worked for several home construction contractors before forming a partnership and operating the Brockton Venetian Blind Laundry Co. After returning from the service he worked at the National Shawmut Bank of Boston for 25 years and the Advanced Information Systems and the Commercial Union Assurance Co. until his retirement in 1994. After his retirement he was employed by his son-in-law as an engraver at Bridgewater Trophy for 22 years. He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church and ushered the 9 o'clock service for 45 years. He spent his leisure time puttering around his homestead and watching sports on TV, especially his favorite team the New York Yankees. He played poker and bocce with his neighbors and friends at Matfield Woods Community Center. He was also a former member of the Lutheran Men's Bowling League.

Ralph was the father of Paula M. Fedele, Jayne E. Donnelly and her husband Thomas, Lisa D. Sylvia and her husband John and the late Susan E. Montisano. He is survived by his sister Stella R. Holmes and his brothers Francis X. Fedele and Joseph M. Fedele. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Bonnie Mast (Jeff; Erica Stults, PhD; Matthew Donnelly; Christopher Donnelly, Esq. (Marissa); Emily Duchaney (Brian); Michael Sylvia; Timothy Sylvia (Sarah); Felicia Nowoslawski (Nicholas); Hannah Sylvia; Samantha Kruskall (James) and Victoria Montisano. He also leaves six great grandchildren: Owen Duchaney, Zander and Clementine Donnelly, Isla Sylvia, Dinah Mast and Lincoln Nowoslawski, in addition to his sister in law Joan Gustafson and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St., (Rte 123) Brockton, on Monday, December 11th from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 12th at 11 a.m. Interment in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
