Armand J. Croteau Jr, 78, of Harrisville passed away peacefully at home, beside his loving wife after a short illness on December 3, 2023. He was the beloved husband, best friend, and companion of Linda-Lee (Kasek) Croteau. Armand and Linda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Armand J. Sr, and Antoinette (Romeo) Croteau.
Mr. Croteau was a Marine Corp veteran. He was employed by the Warwick Fire Department for 18 years.
He was a past commander of Gordon Green Post #27, Hope Valley, RI. He was a Hunter Safety Instructor from the late 70's to early 80's. He belonged to the Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club for over 25 years.
He was the owner of Field & Marsh Kennels where he raised many Labrador Retrievers. Being a Labrador Retriever owner of many of his dogs, he was an avid hunter with his dogs.
Armand and his wife took many vacations in the United States. The most adventurous were to Alaska, camping in the wilderness and a motor trip from Arizona to Montana stopping along the way to enjoy the history of this great country.
In addition to his wife, Armand is survived by his favorite niece, Heather (Plante) Hanlon and her husband Paul and their son Justin Hanlon, also Kenny Perry of Coventry-who was like a son to Armand. Along with his best life friends, Kevin J. Kitson, Steven J. Kitson, and their families.
He was the brother of Barbara Croteau and her daughter, Kimberly Croteau.
All services will be private with burial at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Crystal Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center, 999 South Main Street, Pascoag, RI 02859. This would be greatly appreciated.
