Obituary

CHICOPEE – Roland R. Provost, 75, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life from his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on July 28, 1948 a beloved son of the late Leo W. and Emily S. “Millie” (Brach) Provost. He was raised in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School, and was a lifelong resident of Aldenville. He furthered his education and attended Springfield Technical Community College. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Seaman. He received the National Defense Service Medal. He was a lifelong communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Roland enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his best buddy, Joel Marek. He enjoyed cruising around in his Classic Corvette and being on the water on his boat with his family and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia A. “Pat” (Rzeszutek) Provost, who was Called Home on December 2, 2011. He leaves his three loving children, Tammy A. Kibler and her husband, Anthony, and Richard R. Provost, all of Chicopee, and Ryan A. Provost and his wife, Sara Rajabi Provost, of Boston; his four cherished grandchildren, Jessie Provost, Emily Kibler, Allie Kibler, and Sam Kibler; and his many dear friends and extended family members. Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Prayer Service with United States Navy Military Honors on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to Sainte Rose de Lima Church, c/o 15 Chapel Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
