Marguerite “Peg” (Kelley) Riley, 86, of Boston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2023 in Boston.
Marguerite will be remembered as a devoted mother by Charles Riley of Attleboro, William Riley and his wife Carol of Mansfield, Maryann Pare of Westwood, and James Riley and his wife Jennifer of West Roxbury; caring sister of James Kelley and wife Patsy of Canton, Nancy Sullivan of South Boston, and brother-in-law James Connolly of Dorchester, and beloved Nana to Christopher Riley, his wife Vicki and their son Jason of Roslindale, Joyce Wainwright, her husband Rich and their son Colin of Lynn, Sharon Riley of Attleboro, David Pare of Norwood, Greg Pare of Westwood, Brenna Pare of North Carolina, Jeremy Riley of West Roxbury, Jake Forgione of West Roxbury, Brian Riley of Mansfield, William Riley of Mansfield, and Colleen Riley of Mansfield. She will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, friends, and former colleagues.
She was preceded by her parents James and Margaret Kelley, loving husband Charles (Jerry) Riley, sister Patricia Connolly, and daughter-in-law Kathryn Riley.
Peg was born on October 16, 1937 and was a lifelong and proud Bostonian. She married the love of her life Charles (Jerry) Riley on April 27, 1957, and raised her children in West Roxbury, where she was affectionately known by many as Ms. Peg.
One to never miss a good time, Peg was always on the go. She loved to travel around New England, and once her children were grown, would travel to such places as London, Paris, Hawaii, Ireland, Scotland, and Italy.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Sunday, December 10th from 3-7 pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Monday, December 11th at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Theresa of Avila Church at 10am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
