Obituary

Rudolph Benjamin “Rudy” Turk, 85, formerly of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died June 30, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday July 3, at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald with the Rev. Jim Osborn officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Fitzgerald from 7-9 Sunday evening and 9 until funeral hour on Monday.

Mr. Turk was born August 2, 1920 in Hinesville, GA to the late Edward and Frances Ambrose Turk. He and his loving wife of 63 years spent 30 years in the Fitzgerald area where their five children went to school. He was veteran of World War II where he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Turk retired from the Seaboard Coastline Railroad after 37 years of service. He made his home with his son, Ben Turk, in Columbus, GA for the past four years. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed.

Mr. Turk is survived by sons: Gene Force of Jacksonville, FL and Ben Turk, Jr. of Columbus, GA; daughters: Susan (Bobby) Paulk of Ocilla, Pam (Larry) Glover of Columbus, MS and Sandra (Harris) Fussell of Fitzgerald, GA; 11 Grandchildren; 10 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Blocker Turk, and 2 brother, Daniel and Paul Turk and a sister Willie Turk Smith.
