Obituary

CHICOPEE – Jeanne (Caron) Cardin, 97, a longtime resident of McKinstry Avenue in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, December 3, 2023 with her loving family at her side. She was born in Arthabaska, Province of Quebec, Canada on March 13, 1926, a beloved daughter of the late Philippe and Louise (Lemieux) Caron. She retired in 1988 from American Advertising in Holyoke. Jeanne was an avid hockey fan who loved going to her grandson and great grandsons hockey games. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Lawrence F. Cardin, who was Called Home on March 28, 2007; her loving son, Lawrence A. Cardin who was Called Home in 1967; her grandson, Dennis M. Cardin, Jr. in 2003; her granddaughter, Michelle R. Cardin in 2016; her brother, Wilfred Caron; and her sister, Cecile Camyre. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving children, Dennis M. Cardin, Sr. and his wife, Debra, of Chicopee and Jeannette Montemagni and her husband, James, of Aldenville; her two cherished grandchildren, Angela Chagnon and her husband, Ted and Jeremy Montemagni and his wife, Melissa; her ten great grandchildren, Alicia, Adam, Cameron, Kaeden, Enzo, Isla, Stephanie, Zachary, Corrinne, and Emmalie; her four great great grandchildren, Daemon, Ava, Lillie, and Luca; her two step-grandsons, Vinny Smith and Nathan Smith; her sister, Monique Houde of Victoriaville, P.Q., Canada; and her many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
