MEREDITH---- Patricia “Pat” J. Moore (Jones) passed away peacefully at her beloved cabin in Chemung, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
Born March 15, 1934 Pat was the daughter of the late Frances M. Jones (Dame) and Burleigh Jones.
In 1954, she met the handsome Clifford Moore shortly after his return from service over-seas in the Marine Corps. She and "Kiffy" were married on February 3, 1956. Together they raised five children.
A lifelong resident of Meredith, NH, Pat treasured the beauty and serenity of her small home town. We loved hearing her tell of growing up here. One of her first jobs was setting pins by hand at the bowling alley! She loved swimming at Waukewan beach, ice skating on the bay and playing skip on her bicycle downtown with childhood chums who remained cherished lifelong friends.
Pat graduated from Inter-Lakes High School class of 1952. She worked over the years at Keasby-Mattison, Anna Lee Dolls, The Lakes Region Planning Commission and kept the books for several small local businesses. But her favorite job by far was the 15 years spent on the playground at Inter-Lakes Elementary School as recess monitor and teachers assistant.
Pat was an accomplished knitter and also enjoyed spinning, weaving and rug braiding. She was a regular practitioner of Yoga and meditation long before these became mainstream activities. She also enjoyed hiking with her granddaughter Jessica, sister Barb, friends Jan and Diane and her dogs. She was a huge weather buff and kept detailed journals for more than 20 years.
Pat's appreciation of the simple things in life is one of the things we loved most about her. You will be dearly missed Patty J.
Among those who mourn her loss are sons, Danny J. Moore and fiancé Jacquelyn of Fairfax, VA, Daron Moore and wife Maria of Rockingham, VA, and Daryl Moore and wife Cheri of Meredith, NH; granddaughters Jessica Mansur and husband Jared of Meredith, NH, Cassandra Moore of Rockingham, VA, Chelsea White of Tuftonboro, NH, and Shawna Moore of Tamworth, NH; great-grandsons Grayson Mansur, Roanin Mansur, Ervin White, and Weston White.
Pat is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Cliff; daughters Nancy Moore and Dina Repasy; sister Barbara Woodward; and brother Clarence "Russ" Moore.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
