Obituary

Paxton – Caroline A. (Girouard) Price, 74, a longtime resident of Paxton passed away peacefully while holding the loving hands of her family on Saturday, December 2, 2023 in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center after an extended illness.

Caroline was married for 16 years to the late, Maness Fuller “JR” Price, who passed away in 2005. She is survived by her loving daughter, Jill Jeffers and her husband, William of Worcester; two brothers, Peter Girouard and his wife, Mary of Hubbardston, MA and Paul Girouard of Connecticut, two grandchildren; Sarah and Jason Jeffers, and many nieces and nephews.

Caroline was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Lawrence and Beatrice (Raymond) Girouard and is also predeceased by three siblings, Lawrence Girouard, Sandra Barber and Robert Girouard.

She graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and worked for many years in the insurance industry and spent several years working with MacShawson Insurance Agency where she specialized in homeowner’s insurance. After retiring from the insurance industry, she spent time as a caretaker in the private homecare industry.

Caroline’s greatest treasure was her relationships with family and friends. There was nothing that brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren. Caroline was known for her wonderful cooking and baking. One would say that her love language was food. She would spend countless hours in the kitchen recreating her mother’s beloved dishes and developing new favorites as well. When visiting at her home, you would never leave hungry or empty handed, there was always food to be shared. Her siblings and family often looked forward to this as it reminded them of their Mother/Grandmother.

Before spending her final years at the Notre Dame Health Care facilities in Worcester, Caroline was a longtime resident of Paxton. She loved being in her hometown and had her close group of friends since her younger years at Paxton Center School also known as the “The Paxtios”. These lovely women have shared an incredible friendship over the years filled with love and laughter. Caroline was a friend to many and was especially close and will be missed by her two dear friends, Pam Hair and Bea Curll who supported her unconditionally throughout her lifespan. Most who knew Caroline will remember her for her beautiful smile and how she always found ways to make them laugh. She brought so much joy into the lives she touched.

Following changes in her health and needs Caroline was warmly welcomde into the Notre Dame Health Care community in Worcester. Caroline was always so grateful for the kindness and friendships that she developed and shared at Notre Dame. Caroline was honored and proudly served on the Resident Council Board. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and volunteers of Notre Dame du Lac, Notre Dame Long Term Care and Notre Dame Hospice for the exceptional care, love and support that was shown to Caroline and to her family.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 7 at 10:30 AM in the chapel of Notre Dame du Lac 555 Plantation St. Worcester.
