Tina (Dell'Ovo) Onorato, age 83, of Somerville passed away on Saturday, December 2nd, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center of Burlington. Born and raised in Sparanise, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Vittorio and Antonetta (Monfreda) Dell'Ovo. Tina earned a teaching certificate in Italy before coming to the US in 1962. She lived for two years in Worcester, then married and settled in Somerville. Tina was self-educated in America. She loved to cook for her family and spend time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Tina was the beloved wife of almost 60 years to Peter Onorato, and the devoted mother of Sal Onorato and his wife Kathy of Charlestown, Francesca Connor and her husband Chris of North Reading, Victor Onorato and his wife Lauren of Lexington, and Annette Najarian and her husband Paul of Reading. She was the loving grandmother of Sarah, Jennifer, Christopher, Isabella, Julianna, Matthew, Caroline, William, Olivia and Jack, and the dear sister of Ernesto Dell'Ovo and his wife Ida, Aldo Dell'Ovo and his wife Arlene, Ennio Dell'Ovo, Joe Dell'Ovo and his companion Debbie, Frank Dell'Ovo and his wife Annette, and the late Lina Vecchio and her late husband Michael. Tina is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Agnes Church, 30 Medford St., Arlington, on Wednesday, December 6th at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with her family from 9 AM through 11 AM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
