FABYAN, CT – Annette T. (Tetreault) Thomas, 98, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 3, 2023 in Westview Healthcare Center, Killingly. Her husband of 47 years, Charles J. Thomas, died in 1997.
She leaves a son, Richard J. Thomas and his wife Lisa of Woodstock, CT; a grandson, Brian Thomas and his wife Vanessa of Fabyan; her grandson Christopher’s wife April Thomas of Putnam; 3 great-grandchildren, Madison, Taylor and Kyra; a sister-in-law, Helen “Penna” Thomas of Fabyan, who was quick to give care and support when needed; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson Christopher in 2019, by her sister Jeanne in 2022 and by her brother Norman Tetreault in 2015.
She was born and raised in Webster, a daughter of Ernest and Rose (Therrien) Tetreault and graduated from Saint Anne’s Elementary School. She then completed night courses at Dudley Hall Institute. She lived in Fabyan for most of her life.
Mrs. Thomas worked for 27 years at the former Westwood Co. Inc. in Southbridge, MA, retiring as the manager of the data processing department.
She was a longtime communicant of Saint Stephen’s Church in Quinebaug. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Charlie and her grandsons Christopher and Brian and later with her sister Jeannie and nieces Lisa and Jodi, going to the ocean and her flower garden.
Annette’s family would like to thank the caregivers at Westview Healthcare for the compassion and care provided during her time there.
Her funeral will be held Friday, December 8, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Stephen’s Church, Routes 131 and 197, Quinebaug. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster. Visitation will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 AM Friday in the funeral home, prior to the Mass.
