Arthur Frederick Ashton Jr. 82, Passed away on Monday November 27, 2023, at his home in Myrtle Beach South Carolina.
Arthur was born and raised in Somerville Massachusetts to the late Arthur Sr and Sonja (Skillings) Ashton.
After attending Somerville High School Arthur enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he served four years active duty and 2 years as a reservist! After returning home Arthur married Frances Milana and moved to Stoneham Mass where they raised their four children. Arthur followed in his father’s footsteps and became a licensed Master Electrician and wore that title proudly. He owned his own business in the electrical field and eventually took it to Myrtle Beach where he enjoyed the fresh air and sound of the ocean. He lived the last 11 years at the beach where he made many friends and had a great impact on many, especially his neighbors in his condo and his “family” at the Village. Everyone loved the bobble heads!
Arthur will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his four children, Denise and her husband Josef Weber, Christina (late Husband Derek) Frechette, Melissa Ashton-Hall and Son Arthur F. Ashton III. His 14 grandchildren, Kayla and her husband Bronson, Kahra and her husband David, Khrysta and her husband Eamon, Ryan, Cameron, Christian, James, Ashton, Owen, Matthew, Caden, Evan, Reese & Reegan His 5 great granddaughters, Avah, Savannah, Teegan, Aurora and Briley. He is also survived by his sister Joan Bellino, many nieces and nephews and his Village Family of Myrtle Beach!
Visiting hours will be held at the A. J. Spadafora funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden Mass on Thursday December 7th from 2:00pm-5:00pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Arthur will be laid to rest at the Massachusetts National Veterans Cemetery in Bourne Massachusetts.
