ANDREW J. FRENO OBITUARY
Andrew J. Freno, 92, of Glen Campbell, PA went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2023 from Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
The son of Andrew M. and Anna (Goydich) Freno, he was born on May 28, 1931 in Banks Twp., Indiana Co., PA.
A Korean War veteran, Andy served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 earning the rank of CPL and the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars. He was very proud of his service to his country.
He married the former Nancy Lou Bickford on February 12, 1955 and they have shared over sixty-eight years of marriage together.
Andy was a lifetime member of the Church of the Resurrection at the Glen Campbell site. He was also a lifetime member of the Glen Campbell American Legion Post 435, a member of the Mahaffey VFW and a chartered member of the Montgomery Twp. Rod and Gun Club. He loved going hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, his children: Andrew P. Freno and wife Vicky of Glen Campbell, PA; Mark A. Freno and wife Sharon of Glen Campbell, PA and Donna L. Landolfi and husband Michael of Citra, FL; his eight grandchildren: David Freno, Mathew Freno, James Freno; Heather Doney; Haley Freno, Jennifer Freno, Tanner Landolfi and Lexie Landolfi; his four great-grandchildren: Andrew B. Freno, Chloe Freno, Emily Doney and Blake Doney and his four siblings: Jenny Zimnicki; Anna Mae Bailey; Betty Mattis and husband Tom and Bob Freno.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents; his son: Randy Freno, is daughter-in-law: Robin Freno; his brother, John Freno and his sisters: Christine Kazanowski; Edna Fanco and Dorothy Freno.
Private family arrangements including a memorial service with Father Jim Morley and military honors provided by the US Army and the Glen Campbell American Legion, are with the assistance of the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA.
