Obituary

Our Dad Benjamin L. Provencio was born to Margret L. and Henry B. Provencio in Ventura, California on November 23, 1934. He passed peacefully at home with family at his side on November 22, 2023 after a lengthy battle with cancer one day before his 89th birthday.
Survived by his wife Connie of 62 years, their 6 children, Linda Quintero, Benjamin (Maria), Theodore (Renee), Paul (Barbara), Leticia Taylor, Eugene (Telma), 18 grandchildren; Steven, Eric, Stephanie, Carrisa, Ryan, Noah, Jacob, Malerie, Emily, Eden, Christopher, Chelsea, Shavon, LaRen, Leann, Justino, MiaBella and Dominic. 4 great grandchildren; River, Rain, Ella and Benito. Siblings Andrew, Gloria, Margie and many nieces and nephews. Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents Henry & Margaret, granddaughter Faith (Theodore & Renee) siblings, Sixto, Henry, Luis, Martin, Peter, Vincent, Lupe, Rachel and Martha. Born 4th of 13, raised in Santa Paula, joined the United States Air Force at age 17 serving our country during the Korean War. Following the war he returned to Ventura County and joined Laborers Union Local 585 working as a construction foreman where he remained a member for over 60 years. After retirement from the Laborers Union, he worked in civil service at the CBC Naval base in Port Hueneme.
Once fully retired, our Dad enjoyed his weekly swap meet outings, working on his hobby of classic cars and helping family and friends with various projects. A member of the Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council #10067.
Dad was a lifelong Dodger fan who bled blue since the age of 17 when he first saw the Brooklyn Dodgers play at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, NY.
Our dad loved the great outdoors, his dogs, hunting trips and took his family on many vacation road trips.
As a Grandfather, he was lovingly referred to as Papa Ben. He took pride in his grandchildren's various achievements and enjoyed seeing each of them reach for their goals.
Services will be held at 12 Noon Friday, December 8, 2023 at Santa Clara Chapel, 1333 Ventura Blvd. El Rio CA 93036 with burial at Santa Paula Cemetery. Reception to follow.
