Obituary

Edward Joseph Daly, 82, of Naples, FL and Raynham, MA, passed away at home on November 27, 2023 after a period of declining health. Born in Brighton, MA, he was the son of the late Gerard Daly and the late Dorothy (Reed) Daly. Ed was the beloved husband of Jayne (Jordan) Daly for 58 years.

Ed grew up in the Oak Square neighborhood of Brighton, MA. After graduating high school, he enlisted into the United States Air Force. Upon returning from active duty, he began working for the MBTA. After his retirement, Ed became actively involved in veterans rights through the AMVETS organization, rising to State Commander. He was also a founding member of the Massachusetts DARE organization. Ed was a devoted New England Patriots fan, having had season tickets from 1964. He loved the beach, but most of all he loved his family.

Ed leaves behind his daughters Danyel (Daly) MacKillop, and her husband Don MacKillop of Raynham MA and Melissa (Daly) Ramos and her husband Everardo Ramos of Raynham, MA, and grandchildren Samuel and Sydney MacKillop and Kayley Ramos of Raynham, MA. Ed also leaves behind brothers Robert Daly and his wife Geraldine (Doherty) Daly and Gerard Daly and wife Nora (Toole) Daly and sisters Dianne (Daly) Noonan and husband Joseph Noonan, Carol (Daly) Russo and husband John Russo and Patricia Daly. Ed is predeceased by his sister Barbara Janice Daly.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Ann's Church, 675 North Main Street, Raynham, MA, on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Bourne National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Buzzards Bay, MA, at 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed’s name to Tunnels to Towers Foundation (t2t.org).
