Obituary

Antonio Domingos, 91, of New Bedford passed away on Monday November 27, 2023 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home after a long illness. He was married to Joan (Brodeur) Domingos, with whom he recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughter, Lori J. Chandler and her husband Glen, his grandchildren, Christopher M. Chandler and wife Angela, and Amy E. Chandler and husband Mark, his great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Jacob, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Pascoal and Gracinda, his brothers Jose, John, Arlindo, and Larry, and his sisters Adeline and Millie.

He was a lifelong resident of New Bedford and wintered in North Port, Florida for thirty years.

Antonio was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Freetown and the Acushnet River Valley Golf Course. He was formerly employed as a supervisor at Morse Twist Drill for thirty-one years until its closing.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday December 4th at 9:30 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 121 Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford. The family will receive visitors at the church from 9-9:30 AM prior to the Mass. Private interment will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
